Staff and volunteer wellbeing in the community and voluntary sector has taken a hit in recent years due to increased demand for services, lack of funding, and difficult issues facing communities. We are pleased to bring you a series of Wellbeing Webinars to boost your immunity and resilience. Facilitated by a registered psychologist from Umbrella Group, each session will help you identify issues and make positive behaviour changes.

SHIFTING THE FRANTIC

In our modern, hyper-connected, “always on” world, many people describe feeling constantly frantic, overwhelmed and as if they are constantly playing catch-up. This mental overdrive often means it can be hard to utilise well-known time management strategies, manage stress, or work productively, and it can feel impossible to ever fully wind down.

This session will:

• look at the common factors behind the frantic

• review practical strategies proven to increase your experience of calm and control.

At our May LoVe Online session guest speaker Lindy Lely-Kawharu will be sharing how to ”Develop volunteer programmes in existing organisational structures”.
Lindy is the Manager of Volunteers for the Auckland ADHB, on the board of Volunteering New Zealand and the 2023 recipient of the Volunteering Auckland LoVE Award for Outstanding Leader of Volunteers. She has over 20 years experience in volunteer coordination and management, business, change and project management.

We’ve all been there! Join a group of peers to challenge your fear of addressing situations with individuals or groups that are affecting your ability to achieve your Kaupapa and succeed. The workshop is tailored to address real life challenges that participants are experiencing. Be prepared to realise you are not alone and find your approach to be comfortable addressing less than desirable behaviour/actions/comments in your team, and look at strategies to avoid them happening in the future.

Come and learn about the privacy principles in the Privacy Act 2020 and how they apply in practice.
This will cover:

• How can you protect the privacy of your clients?
• What are the obligations for volunteers around privacy?
• What happens if you do breach their privacy?

Presenter Alice Wood is an in-house lawyer and active volunteer for Wellington Community Law. She has previously worked as the Privacy Manager for a bank and now works for the Commerce Commission. Having volunteered for Community Law since 2015, and for various other community organisations over the last ten years, Alice understands the importance of having clear guidance and support in place for volunteers, particularly when it comes to privacy.

This full day workshop gives you practical ideas for making your organisation a place where everyone wants to volunteer. The workshop is facilitated  by Megan Thorn from Exult.

The core values and principles identified by the Council for Certification in Volunteer Administration (CCVA) will be shared.
