The Tamil Nadu government has announced complete lockdown in the State from May 10 to 4 am on May 24.
Groceries, vegetable, meat and ration shops are permitted to operate till 12 pm without air conditioners. E-commerce delivery is allowed only for food/groceries/fish/meat till 12 noon. Only takeaways from restaurants are permitted.
Inter-district and intra-district vehicular movement (including public transport) will remain suspended during the lockdown, except for essential travel.
State government offices will not function. However, essential services like Secretariat, health, revenue, disaster management, police and home guards will function, the release said.
E-registration is a must for those coming from other states and countries.
All private companies, including IT-ITeS companies will not be allowed to operate. However, those already exempted can function.
Tasmac shops will be closed during the lockdown.
Ongoing in-site construction works will be permitted.
All the restrictions that were mentioned earlier will continue, the release said.
The new restrictions come in the wake of a daily number of cases crossing 25,000 in the State.
During this lockdown, all shops will be open from 6 am to 9 pm on Saturday and Sunday (May 8 and 9).
