While the Health Ministry has been constantly warning about the possible third Covid wave, India continues with the declining trend in its daily infections at about 10,000. India on Saturday reported 10,302 infections with 267 deaths till 8:00 AM, as per the Health Ministry data. The country witnessed the peak in Covid cases during the second wave in May 2021, when the daily infections surpassed the 4-lakh mark.

Meanwhile, the Government has added a new feature on CoWIN Portal, through which the vaccine status of the beneficiary can be retrieved by putting in Mobile Number and Full Name.

India conducted a total of 10,72,863 Covid tests during the previous day, aggregating to 63.05 crore tests done so far. As per the data, the weekly positivity rate stood at 0.93 per cent remaining less than 2 per cent for the last 57 days and the daily positivity rate was at 0.96 per cent. The daily positivity rate remained below 2 per cent for the last 47 days and below 3 per cent for 82 consecutive days.

Meanwhile, the active caseload stood at 1,24,868, constituting 0.36 per cent of the country's total positive cases, lowest since March 2020.

In addition, India administered 63.69 lakh vaccine doses on Saturday till 7:30 PM and with this the total inoculations done so far stood at 116.46 crore, as per the CoWIN Dashboard.
