KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 17): Touch 'n Go Digital Bhd (TNGD) has partnered with Amanah Saham Nasional Bhd (ASNB) to launch ASNB Investment on the Touch 'n Go eWallet, allowing Malaysians to easily make investments in ASNB unit trusts on the popular eWallet platform.

Existing ASNB unitholders may now invest in ASNB unit trust funds directly from the Touch 'n Go eWallet through GOinvest, removing the need to go to a bank or agent. Users can check their Amanah Saham Bumiputera (ASB) or Amanah Saham Malaysia (ASM) account balance, portfolio performance and make new investments, after a simple process to link their ASNB and Touch 'n Go eWallet accounts.

However, those who are not yet an ASNB account holder would need to create an account either physically with an agent or via the MyASNB mobile application. The good news is that TNGD confirmed that such features will be added into its eWallet in the future.

The partnership between ASNB and TNGD was launched at an event on Aug 16 at Setia City Mall. TNGD chief executive officer Alan Ni and ASNB CEO and executive director Muzzaffar Othman officiated the partnership together, with the goal of making investments accessible to all, and encouraging the new generation to start investing early.

“The introduction of ASNB to our growing financial services portfolio aligns with our commitment towards digital inclusion and making financial investment accessible for everyone,” said Ni.

Investing in ASNB unit trusts can be made with a minimum of RM10 from the eWallet with “competitive service fees”. The fixed price fund comes with an additional service fee of RM1, while the various price funds have sales charge that varies between 1.75% to 5%, depending on the distribution channel.

ASNB fixed price funds value the funds at a fixed price, which is RM1 per unit, no matter the market conditions, while its variable price funds fluctuate in value according to the net asset value, leading to potentially higher gains and losses as compared to the fixed price funds.

Fixed price funds available on ASNB Investment are: ASB, ASB 2, ASB 3 Didik, ASM, ASM 2 Wawasan and ASM 3.

Variable price funds available for investment are: Amanah Saham Nasional (ASN), ASN Equity 2, ASN Equity 3, ASN Equity 5, ASN Equity Global, ASN Imbang 1, ASN Imbang 2, ASN Imbang 3 Global, ASN Sara 1, ASN Sara 2 and ASN Sukuk.

Users can track their investments, review the last five transactions of each fund, and access funds of dependants on the Touch 'n Go eWallet app. Prior to making any investments, the GOinvest platform also provides Product Highlight Sheets, Annual Reports and Fund Fact Sheets for each fund, ensuring users make informed investment decisions.

To celebrate this partnership and to encourage TNGD’s 20 million eWallet users to start investing, TNGD and ASNB are running a “Labur Online Laju” (LOL) cashback campaign between Aug 16 and Sept 30, 2023.

Users who subscribe to ASNB Investment on Touch 'n Go eWallet can earn a RM1 cashback when investing RM10 in any ASNB unit trust, and a RM10 bonus cashback when investing more than RM500 in any variable price fund.

TNGD and ASNB’s event space Setia City Mall will remain open from Aug 16 to 20, 2023 for any Malaysians interested to learn more.
