Getting the Gig

This one-day course aims to equip participants with the skills and knowledge to pitch for projects as self-employed persons. In this lesson, participants will learn to capture the attention and interest of clients through compelling email and elevator pitches.  From tips on communicating through emails to being ready to pitch at any time, this activity-driven course will build the base for participants who want to make an impact in their presentations and pitches, and stand-out from the crowd.

Learning Objectives

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  1. Examine the attributes and nuances of five components and the format of an email pitch that would capture the attention of the potential client.
  2. Explain the five components of a well-planned elevator pitch and the importance of being equipped to present a pitch at any occasion.
  3. Compare and contrast between the five components of an email pitch and an elevator pitch to a potential client.
  4. Devise an elevator pitch, of no more than 60 seconds, to engage a potential client.

This course is highly recommended for freelancers and self-employed consultants. In particular, independent talents from various industries including the arts, design, media, communications, marketing and public relations will benefit from the course.

Entry Requirement

This course is suitable for participants with minimal or no prior knowledge.

Certification
