There has been speculation Kiri Allan would run for the Labour Party leader or deputy leader positions. Photo:

RNZ understands Kiri Allan is not running to be Chris Hipkins' deputy.

Kelvin Davis, who is Labour's deputy leader, yesterday suggested his job might be up for grabs.

When asked if he would like to stay in the role, he told reporters those decisions were yet to be made.

The party's deputy leader is chosen by its caucus, while the deputy prime minister is chosen by the prime minister.
