Beginning with Australia, Mahuta will have a meeting on her transit through Singapore before visiting Indonesia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Qatar, the United States and Canada.

Departing on Thursday 11 November, the minister is taking a delegation of two and is expected to stay in MIQ when they return on 28 November.

In UAE, she will support New Zealand's exhibition at Expo 2020 and host the festival of indigenous and tribal ideas Te Aratini.

She is expected to thank Qatar's foreign minister, Sheik Al-Thani, for his government's support with New Zealand's evacuation of Afghanistan.

"The Qatari Government has been generous in supporting departures from Afghanistan and is continuing to play an important role. My visit will allow me to formally recognise and thank them for this support," she said.

During the trip she will also meet with the foreign ministers of each of the countries visited, and other international representatives including ASEAN Secretary General Dato Lim Jock Hoi.
