Some staff were not wearing full PPE.

Thirteen police officers, including three arresting officers, are now self-isolating and being tested.

Waitemata district operations manager Inspector Jason Edwards said the custody unit at Waitakere Station was closed after Corrections notified the positive case yesterday.

He said the woman was arrested Thursday on suspicion of burglary and breaching bail.

She did not have any symptoms and went through a health screening.

Police and Ministry of Health staff are reviewing CCTV footage and the Waitakere Station unit is being deep cleaned before it is expected re-opening later today.

Edwards said they were investigating staff wearing of PPE.
