【HKPC collaborates with JinTech Semiconductor to promote smart microelectronics manufacturing in Hong Kong 】 HKPC signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with JinTech Semiconductor Limited (JinTech Semiconductor) today, pledging to a collaborated effort in promoting the development and application of technologies related to Hong Kong’s semiconductor industry, as well as the training of technical professionals. HKPC and JinTech Semiconductor will leverage their respective advantages to achieve new industrialisation, further strengthen Hong Kong’s advanced manufacturing industry chain, and comprehensively enhance the brand strength of smart microelectronics manufacturing to achieve high-quality development in Hong Kong.    This collaboration has brought about two significant "firsts". It is the first collaborative case of HKPC's cross-disciplinary technical team in promoting smart microelectronics manufacturing in Hong Kong. At the same time, JinTech Semiconductor is the first semiconductor testing company to establish its presence in Hong Kong.   Going forward, HKPC will leverage its world-leading advanced technologies and accumulated experience to support enterprises in upgrading and transforming their operations. Under the collaboration, HKPC will enable JinTech Semiconductor to optimise its production processes, empowering smart manufacturing in semiconductor grading and packaging as well as fostering a customised, hyper-local and sustainable “Microfactory” with Hong Kong characteristics. 【Year in review & future plans unveiled in HKPC Town Hall meeting】 The latest HKPC Town Hall meeting, hosted by Mr Mohamed BUTT, Executive Director of HKPC, gathered colleagues to reflect on the achievements of HKPC over the past year and discuss strategic priorities for the future. Mr BUTT acknowledged the remarkable accomplishments made by the HKPC team, including expanding smart manufacturing training programs, assisting SMEs in enhancing productivity, and pioneering innovative green tech solutions. The meeting highlighted the record-breaking 103 world-class awards and accolades received by HKPC in 2023, showcasing the organisation's unwavering commitment to driving innovation and technology development. Additionally, the external income of HKPC approached a new high, with a year-on-year growth rate of 16%, while achieving a remarkable average annual growth rate of 12% since 2018-19. During the Town Hall, Dr Fei TENG was welcomed as the new Chief Technology Officer, bringing over 20 years of industry expertise to further strengthen HKPC's R&D achievements and drive innovation efforts. The importance of cybersecurity and HKPC's commitment to investing in cutting-edge research for advanced protection strategies were also highlighted. 【The Digital Economy Summit 2024 has opened this morning 】   The two-day Digital Economy Summit 2024 has opened this morning. As one of the co-organisers, HKPC co-hosted a forum with Logistics and Supply Chain MultiTech R&D Centre this afternoon, in which HKPC’s Chief Digital Officer, Mr Edmond Lai acted as a moderator to explore the cutting-edge technology advancements that help revolutionise the manufacturing industry and streamline supply chains with industry leaders.   What’s more? The forum helped participants to understand the full potential of integrated technologies like Additive Manufacturing, Advanced Manufacturing and XR, etc., to boost the overall economy and GDP contribution, as well as to shoulder up the “Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG)” responsibility.   After the forum, Mr Edmond Lai also accepted media interviews and responded to questions regarding Hong Kong's implementation of the new industrialisation, including international resources available and its advantages, challenges, as well as the work of HKPC in accelerating the development of new productive forces, and the rapid rise of microfactory.   #hkpc #DES
