You're looking at our very first lithium appraisal well – it gathers information about underground reservoirs and samples the brine that might eventually become Mobil™ Lithium. But make no mistake: This ain't our first rodeo. This site in Arkansas is taking full advantage of technologies and processes we've relied on for decades. As a result, we have more lithium appraisal wells underway, which means we're one step closer to becoming a lithium supplier for the EV battery market by 2030. Learn more about our lithium plan and ExxonMobil Low Carbon Solutions. #electricvehicles #energytransition #lithium

Greenhouse gas emissions need to be reduced. How? Tanya Vetter, vice president of Product Solutions strategy and planning, says through a diverse mix of technologies. EVs and hybrids are expected to make a positive impact, but it’s equally important we reduce greenhouse gas emissions from the hundreds of millions of cars, trucks, planes, ships and trains that currently run on liquid fuels. Which is why we need policy that encourages investments in all technologies to reduce emissions from these fleets. We need a new way of thinking about the entire transportation system: by considering the life cycle carbon intensity of fuels and how to make these vehicles operate more efficiently. Read more on what she thinks and share your thoughts.
Let's deliver reduced transportation emissions

Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS): 1️⃣ The technology captures CO₂ before it reaches the atmosphere 2️⃣ It stores that CO₂ deep underground, permanently 3️⃣ Experts agree we need it to combat climate change We're ready to deploy CCS to reduce emissions from the sector behind some of the world's most important materials: heavy industries.

At #CERAWeek, our CEO Darren Woods discussed our role in a thoughtful energy transition. How? • Working to meet the evolving needs of society. • Pursuing more than $20 billion in lower-emission investments. • And working to reduce emissions in hard-to-decarbonize sectors. Read a recap of Darren Woods’ conversation with Dan Yergin here: https://lnkd.in/gRxsF3NZ

Direct Air Capture will be an important technology for reaching society's #netzero goals. Why? #DAC sucks carbon dioxide directly from the air and then permanently stores the carbon deep underground. This process results in a carbon credit that can be used to offset emissions that are difficult to mitigate using other technologies.
