Sadly, the number of households living in temporary accommodation in England is at its highest level in more than a decade, almost doubling since last year with 84,740 households in bed and breakfasts, hostels and other temporary accommodation including 126,020 children according to the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG).

Discover Islam Luton feeds 100 people at its Friday Curry Kitchen through collection from the centre or distribution across the towns homeless shelters. Attendees share their stories of spiralling rents, welfare cuts and a dire lack of social housing leading them to sleep rough, seek temporary accommodation or even live insecurely in sheds or cars. It costs £150 to prepare delicious rice and curry with the support of Community Interest Luton and this target will help cover 7 weeks.

I've been encouraged by friends and community members to run the Love Luton 10k and the training and build-up has been awesome. I never imagined myself as a runner but the support and encouragement from Team Luton has been inspiring.
