‘KARTIK AARYAN’S THREAT TO WALK OUT OF SHEHZADA WAS UNPROFESSIONAL’

For the unversed, Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo is officially being remade in Hindi. Directed by Rohit Dhawan, Shehzada stars Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon in lead roles. Well, the news of Ala Vaikunthpurramuloo’s Hindi version releasing in theatres didn't go well with the makers of Shehzada, as they feared that it would affect their film’s business. Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo producer Manish Shah opened up about this.

Expressing his stance on the decision, Manish Shah said, "The makers of Shehzda were not keen to release the Hindi version in cinemas. Also, Kartik Aaryan said if the movie was released in theatres, he would walk out of the film, which would have caused Shehzada producers a loss of Rs 40 crores. It was extremely unprofessional of him.”

'SPENT RS 2 CRORE ON ALA VAIKUNTHAPURRAMULOO DUBBING, WANTED IT TO BE BIGGER THAN PUSHPA'

Producer Allu Aravind, who also produced the original Allu Arjun film, is co-producing Shehzada with Bhushan Kumar and Aman Gill. Manish stated his reason for stopping Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo’s Hindi version from releasing in theatres. He said, "I have known Shehzada producers for 10 years. I cannot have people who are close to me losing Rs 40 crores, so I dropped it. By doing this, I ended up losing Rs 20 crores. I spent Rs 2 crores only on dubbing. I wanted this film to be bigger than Pushpa: The Rise. If I do not release the film I lose money, so now I am releasing it on my channel."

He further added, "I would not have done anything for Kartik Aaryan, I only did this because of Allu Arvind. Why would I do this for a Bollywood hero? I don't know him."

Shehzada is one of the most awaited films starring Kartik Aaryan. Fans are eagerly waiting to see the actor step into the shoes of Allu Arjun. By sharing pictures from the set, he has only piqued the interest of his fans. The Hindi remake has been shot in Delhi and the filming will conclude soon. Shehzada also features Manish Koirala and Paresh Rawal. The film will release in theatres in November 2022.
