BJP received 75% of its donation from Tata Group's Progressive Electoral Trust

During 2018-19, BJP received donations worth Rs 473 crore from different corporates. The share of Progressive Electoral Trust was 75 per cent of this amount.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) received Rs 356 crores from the Progressive Electoral Trust in the financial year 2018-19, which was the highest amount received by the party from any corporate.

This information was shared with the Election Commission of India recently and the commission published it on Monday.

During 2018-2019, the BJP received donations worth Rs 473 crore from different corporates. The share of Progressive Electoral Trust, a trust owned by the Tata Group, was 75 per cent of this.

In comparison to the donations received by the BJP in 2018-19, the party had received just Rs 167 crores from corporates in 2017-18.

The party's list of donations was submitted to the Election Commission by BJP's office secretary Mahendra Kumar Pandey.

The list contains names of all donations received by the party in the financial year 2018-19 that were more than Rs 20,000.
