The resale market is growing by the day, and Harvey Nichols is the latest retailer to get on board the movement. The iconic London department store will be teaming up with Reflaunt to allow customers the opportunity to sell their pre-loved goods in a straightforward way.

The partnership will see the Reflaunt Resell Service launch in Harvey Nichols stores across the UK, and online, at the end of this month. Customers will be able to bring in their pre-loved designer pieces, or have them picked up, where Reflaunt will then take care of the entire process, from authentication to pricing and the uploading of imagery.

Customers will then receive 80 per cent of the resale price directly via bank transfer, or can choose to receive an enhanced sum by opting for Harvey Nichols vouchers instead. The aim is for the entire experience to be seamless and hassle-free, encouraging customers to extend the life of their pre-loved items that they no longer have use for.

Reflaunt boasts the largest second-hand community in the world, with 50 million shoppers across a network of 25 international marketplaces. It works by bridging luxury fashion brands with leading second-hand marketplaces and encouraging a circular approach to luxury fashion.

"We’re thrilled to be partnering with Reflaunt, to offer our customers a circular model of consumption and ensure luxury fashion items are given the longer lifespan that they deserve," Manju Malhotra, CEO of Harvey Nichols said. "This innovative service provides customers with an effortless way to part with their pre-loved items and in rehoming them with a new owner, not only earns them Harvey Nichols vouchers, but closes the fashion circle."

This initiative follows in the footsteps of the likes of MyTheresa, Selfridges and Farfetch, who have all launched resale initiatives in recent months.

The Reflaunt Resell Service will be available online at Harvey Nichols from 26 August.
