New Zealand’s Only Gender Equality Accreditation

The GenderTick is a formal accreditation programme designed to acknowledge organisations who have successfully demonstrated their compliance and leadership in the gender equality space on an annual basis.

Aotearoa offers one of the most diverse workforces in the world. However, not all people are accepted, valued and included as they should be. For gender, there are still huge inequalities, discrimination, bullying and harassment that can prevent full and equal participation at work.

Becoming GenderTick accredited is a visible commitment to your employees and customers. It sends a strong message that gender equality is an intrinsic part of your organisational culture.

The accreditation process tests whether your workplace understands and is consistently working towards workplace gender equality and includes an ongoing improvement process as you progress.

Please note: The GenderTick accreditation is only available to Gender at Work Community Members.

What are the benefts of the GenderTick?

  • Attract and retain talent
Top talent in competitive employment markets expect fair treatment and equality. The GenderTick signifies to future employees your values and commitment to providing a safe and supportive space. This helps to retain employees by improving your workplace equality year-on-year.

  • Independent assurance on gender policy and practice
Implementing new policies that directly impact your employees can be difficult to navigate alone. The GenderTick process offers independent consultation to ensure you’re hitting each mark and your policies are successful.

  • Mitigate future legal risk
Employer obligations to employees change and grow. We continue to see inclusive policies such as regarding menstruation and menopause, flexible working, gender affirmation and gender harassment become commonplace. Make sure you’re doing all you can to keep on top of your obligations and become a leader in the gender equity space.

  • Demonstrate commitment to customers, investors and shareholders
Customers, investors and shareholders alike are increasingly conscientious about how they use their purchasing power. An organisation that is seen to be discriminatory or insensitive in this area risks negative and often costly consequences.

  • Improve your workplace culture
The GenderTick is a trusted and recognised accreditation by over 100,000 employees within our community. Making visible progress towards gender equality each year fosters a self-perpetuating culture of acceptance, equity and care for one another. Expect a positive cultural shift with the GenderTick.
