The Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA) invited the public to provide feedback on proposed amendments to the Companies Act 1967 (CA)1.

  1. The key feedback received on the proposals in the following areas, and MOF and ACRA’s responses to the feedback, are set out in Annex A:
    1. Facilitating digital general meetings and digital board meetings;
    2. Clarifying the application of existing digitalisation provisions to documents under the CA;
    3. Other areas concerning digitalisation; and
    4. Review of the threshold for the compulsory acquisition of shares under section 215 of the CA.
  2. MOF and ACRA will publish a summary of the feedback received on the rest of the proposals, together with our responses, in due course.
  3. MOF and ACRA would like to thank all respondents who have provided their feedback in this public consultation.

Feedback was sought on proposals arising from ACRA’s review of the CA and the recommendations of a committee set up by ACRA comprising of industry stakeholders.
