About IEEE GRSS Hong Kong Chapter

The Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society Hong Kong Chapter (GRSSHK) is a community of researchers and practitioners based in Hong Kong, collaborating and designing tools to understand our interaction with Earth’s urban/eco-systems, to monitor its environments, oceans and ice caps, and to characterize potential risks. GRSSHK supports a network of collaborations at a global level: Come & join us!

Mission statement

The Committee’s mission is to facilitate, engage and coordinate GRSS members in Hong Kong and the communities-at-large to: assess the current state-of-the-art in remote sensing instruments and technology, identify new instrument concepts and relevant technology trends, and recognize enabling technologies for future instruments.

Vision statement

Interested in using data from satellites to understand the urbanized Earth? Our society can help. We deal with the theory, concepts, and techniques of science and engineering as they apply to the remote sensing of the earth, oceans, atmosphere, cities and space, as well as the processing, interpretation and dissemination of this information.
