Wow.

I mean.

Wow.

Ok. How to explain what has happened without screaming.

That will be tough.

As you all know, I’m a Green voter and have been most of my life, but the middle class identity politics woke cultists who have taken over my Party are deciding on the most crazy bullshit.

The University of Auckland Greens have decided to cancel all political debates if they can’t be guaranteed trigger free safe spaces for them to debate in.

I know.

I know.

I know.

Here’s their bewildering capitulation…

… this is exactly the same woke bullshit that saw the Auckland Students Climate strike cancel themselves for being too racist!

Refusing to debate politics until they get trigger free safe spaces is such sheltered cowardice!

REMEMBER – this is the fucking University branch of the Greens, they should be championing free speech, not undermining it by refusing to engage because of some woke triggers!

Our planet is melting down, inequality and poverty are not being addressed and the University Greens won’t debate until they have an emotion support peacock present?

Isn’t it a tad convenient when James Shaw and Marama Davidson are politicians  bought off with vacant Ministerial baubles that the University Greens suddenly don’t want to debate?

How convenient.

There is an election year coming up and the University Greens are refusing to engage because they might be triggered by lies and hearing things that upset them.

Jesus wept.

This woke middle class nonsense that is infecting the entire protest movement is why the climate protest movement went from 170 000 on the streets to barely thousands 2 weeks ago.

The woke’s pure temple politics vs Broadchurch engagement is killing our movement.

Right now, teenage girls are risking death, beatings and imprisonment in Iran to fight for basic human rights. In NZ, a country far, far, far less authoritarian, the youth of NZ are too frightened to engage in political debate until they are assured it’s a safe space!

The Greens brittle shallow concerns are beneath the mana of the challenges in front of us.

      • Gangs are up 13% too. Doesn’t mean it’s helpful to society.

Dumb lives matter and increasing poverty are increasing votes in certain sectors of society.

It’s similar to the Natz selling out to Chinese for Chinese votes (eventually biting them in the foot), now we have the Greens selling poverty and no accountability to high needs who are too triggered to want any other messages.

Who doesn’t want the rest of society to look after them while you loll about virtue signalling about your harsh life with your law degree, 6 figure salary in your 20’s, drugs problem, self diagnosed ADHD, non binary, depression, te reo and writing books and blogs about yourself and all your problems related the above.

We all know all problems with the world are caused by boomers.

Why bother to change anything when everyone is too racist to be allowed to protest or debate or talk in public.

  1. “Someday, when all your civilization and science are likewise swept away, your kind will pray for a man with a sword.”

  2. Word is out that the Otago University Temperance Society are in full agreement with their Auckland University chums with the debates being non alcohol….All three members voted in agreement it seems ….Remember……….”You don’t have to drink to have a good time “….

    • Oh God. If the Greenies have alcohol problems then they should enrol with Alcoholics Anonymous. This is absurd. I expect they’ll be wanting Catholic Masses banned next, and wanting to cancel that lowlife Jesus the Galilean who turned water into wine.

If Marama and James have been found drunken in charge of unicorns, then call in the SPCA, and ensure that Auckland Uni provides stress-free stables for the beasties. And how come the Greens invite foolish followers to meet at the Southern Cross hotel in downtown Wellington ? Double standards, as usual.

      • Turning water to wine would come under point seven, the fact checking requirement. In other words it would be excluded for being bollocks.

    • Rob’s Mob. Alcohol hasn’t been a problem at university debates previously, a bit of a non- issue really. It could be that Auckland is full of dipsomaniacs. I seem to recall Marama saying she was “ pissed “ when she suggested ( white ) men delete themselves, and her vicious anti-Pakeha diatribe at the Auckland vigil for the tragic Muslim mosque victims might have been lubricated by you know what.
After her advocation for the cunt, it could be open season on private parts, and given the Greens predilection for gender and sex issues, I have some sympathy for these agitated wee people and think that it might be best just to cancel them all. Let them stay home sipping miso, or freshly ground rain drops, texting each other all thru’ the night. And days.

      • Hahaha, we’ll said@ Holyhock of the Valley, drinking there misos etc, also they could wipe there continuously sniveling little noses with biodegradable 3 x ply tissues

  3. Maybe meetings should be held in ‘non-alcoholic’ towns rather than Auckland. I can see the debate formulating a remit about getting rid of the alcohol industry, (including the wine one of course) being a real cracker for this mob.

  4. Sorry Greens, I have to party vote ACT now 🙁

Oh, but I’ll still vote for the Green candidate in my electorate, since it makes it look like the average Green voter doesn’t understand strategic voting (which they generally don’t) and is unlikely to effect the outcome because it’s a safe Labour seat (well if anything is truly safe given the performance of the current Government).

  5. Yes. This is blackmail and bullying from patently intellectually inadequate freaks who have the effrontery to regard themselves as politicians.

The campuses used to be fountainheads of debate and dialogue, but this pathetic grouping may as well sod off back to the University of Waikato and sit around in deck chairs and feel sorry for themselves. They’re being used, but they are too dim to realise that.

  6. – ‘Diverse’ means identity not thought
    – ‘Authentic’ means in agreement with Critical Theory
Diverse voices are only authentic if they agree with doctrine, a non-woke minority individual does not have an authentic voice.

    This is political gatekeeping

The Greens only want to debate on their terms. It’s not about excluding straight-white-cis-righthanded-neurotypical males (Stephen) it’s about establishing pretext for excluding anyone of any colour, gender or sexuality who does not agree with doctrine. It limits debate within the confines of the Green’s own ideological worldview while using minority identity as a human shield rhetorically.

    • Tui. Correct. And the university is under no obligation to succumb to these demands. In times past their premises were made available for meetings and gatherings under their own terms, which would-be attendants could either accept, or find themselves another location.

  7. Great summary Tui.
Voting for the Greens in the belief they are environmentally driven is to be deluded.
Their real beliefs are politically driven as explained above.
How could anyone vote for these people masquerading as Greens?

  8. When the Greens first came out, as it were.. they wanted air time, they wanted to be part of the national debate. They fought to have their voices heard.

Now they’re acting like they’re the main attraction, as if they’re so popular they can demand a celebrity rider.

Is it a case off; The Greens and The Cucks that Love Them.. OR, a collective sigh-of-relief from the adults in the room at escaping green narcissism?

    • Tane/Male/Man, not Female/Woman “Does this mean that we will never hear from them again…”
Hopefully yes, but the NZ universities have been appointing some peculiar VC’s with peculiar agendas – and rather plush abodes- and asphyxiating tendencies which could be spelling the death of academic freedom, and with more and more politicians trading on victimhood, this motley bunch of veges could be elevated to victimhood themselves if Uni staff are dopey and dim enough to do it, which some are. Normal people wouldn’t give them any oxygen at all, in which case a certain degree of optimism could be on the horizon.

  9. Well done for calling this out Bomber.

If anyone ever wants to know why Jordan Peterson is so popular, this is why. He also said, “in order to think, one just risk being offended” Universities ironically should be the bastions of offensive thought and words.

I would even suggest a solution. Any academic institute that restricts free speech should have their govt funding revoked, until they can prove themselves as free speech proponents. The sad thing is Labour are two steps behind the Greens on this, and they would be some who actually agree with what the Greens are proposing.

  10. Debating is critical for democracy. It’s how adults achieve workable solutions for all citizens. The Green members are all great talkers, they need to back themselves and not resort to cancel people when they don’t get what they want. Keep in the dialogue people. At least a Blue/Green in Nelson with Nick Smith who won’t be beaten in a debate for all his other faults

  11. If this is the next generation of the Greens then the party is already dead. This is the most pathetic echo chamber creating garbage. It boils down to “We refuse to debate against anyone who doesn’t already agree with us 100 percent.”

  12. Fair enough. They must get shit. Especially from red neck cockies, many of whom are too fucking dumb to put their boots on the right way around much less understand the political/ mafia like nuances of the industry they’re directly involved in.
    RNZ
‘Westland election results victory for ‘Trumpism’, ousted councillor says’
“However, Allan Birchfield, the chairman for the last term, and re-elected on Saturday with a strong vote, said the people had spoken and “they got rid of the greenies”.
The nightmare for the Green Party are the many in who’s best interests it is that they fail, and continue to do so. Is that not correct Jimmy?
A properly run and organised Green Party would be the best thing to happen to farming since the advent of twist top beer bottles. The problem is, most farmers don’t know that, and the Green Party hierarchy are more tactically fascist from a Machiavellian point of view than Prince Machiavelli himself could even begin to imagine.
What almost all people fail to comprehend, much less understand is that the moment farmers realised that farming, generally, were to become regenerative and organic it’d be the end of quite a bit of stuff and things. Including the agri chemical and banker stranglehold on farmers and farming. The Green Party could do that but they wouldn’t fucking dare.
I see dopy labour are going to force farmers to pay for their polluting. Well, see? There’s a clue to what’s going on. But no mention of the banks and their billionaire buddies manipulating agriculture to line their pockets which, of course leads to intensive agricultural practises which leads to pollution and soil exhaustion.

  13. The Greens lost my vote when they recently wrote gender discrimination into their new leadership rules.
Now we get the statement “Prioritising the safety of those at the margins of the community forms the core of our kaupapa”….really!?!
For the last 30 years, here I was thinking the core driver for the Greens was the environment! Shows how gullible I am!
The reality is, if the next generation of Greens are nothing more than a gaggle of authoritarian and angry snowflakes, so precious they refuse to engage in political debate, they will simply end up canceling the Green party from public representation.
Never thought I’d say this but the way they are going, thats starting to sound like good thing.
All that, at a time in history when we need a strong, vocal and persuasive sustainability/social justice party to challenge the status quo more than ever.
Do us a favour Bomber and set up a party that is worth voting for at the next general election.

    • Sleek. I think we all know that beautiful Mother Earth could be euthanising herself right now, but the Green co-leader could still be exhorting,” A cunt ! A cunt ! My planet for a cunt !”

The alternative gender co-leader will smirk like the kid who didn’t get caught in the cookie jar, half the rest will still be consumed with insane anger about what did or might happen to the sex lives of their whanau, others will be whizzing around on electric bikes or smoking joints in the jacuzzi, while down south, on an island in the middle of Otago Harbour, brainy Gareth Hughes thanks Gaia that he escaped intact, and unlike Kelvin, shows that some drops of Welsh blood can be life-enhancing, and mighty, and the stuff of legends.

  14. How the fuck they still poll around 10% is beyond me. I hope they get wiped out next year so they can regroup and come back as a proper green party.

    • The reason that they are polling around 10% is in part because our kids are currently being ‘Woke Washed’ in all schools to the effect that unless they are a Maori non-binary albino cripple they are in effect Neo-Nazi’s who owe their ‘less oppressive’ classmates an apology and a free licence to turn NZ into a woke shitshow.
I realise that this seems like an exaggeration but in reality but it really isn’t and the only avenue available to escape this madness is a Nats / ACT coalition (a.k.a. self-serving rat fuckers who will literally swap NZ with Chinese whose only loyalty will be to the CCP and the local Mercedes dealership).

  15. I’m confused, Ardern and others proudly wore the headscarf in solidarity with Muslim women but now they don’t want the headscarf? Is it headscarf on or headscarf off in the safe space?

  16. What this group of Green uni students are doing has all the hallmarks of how a cult operates.

People who fought for human rights and still do e.g the women of Iran, would think these kids are pathetic. What the hell has gone wrong

  17. Regardless of your politics you can’t tell me Chloe Swarbrick comes across as someone who can’t debate an issue. How are those that succeed them going to stand up in the house. It staggers me that they do this sort of thing.

  18. There’s nothing to stop these kids hiring a school or church hall. Churches are crying out for the extra cash and they could probably organise volunteers to mind them; the old ladies of St Barnabas, Fendalton, used to run a babysitting service as fundraiser, and there’ll be folk in Auckland who could do the same thing here. This’d give the Green kids freedom to do their own thing, and if they can’t stay sober, or if they get too histrionic or violent, the parishioners can call the cops.

  19. Jenny Shipley could pop down and look after them. I think she’s the one who wanted the drinking age lowered so that Kiwi yobs would morph into cool Parisian’s, or Spaniards drinking in haciendas with granny and the baby as the sun slowly sets over Mediterranean seas, or Italians on Vespas with gold chains like Indians’ gleaming in the moon. Where’s Jenny ? She may have free time in her hands.

  20. WtF does a trigger free safe space look like?Is it like an isolation tank where you wear ear plugs, a blind fold and just float? Wow

  21. Their idea of “debate” sounds a lot like that National Radio show that comes on in the afternoon where everyone sits around, smiles and agrees with each other.

Host: Ooh look the government has some new marvelous idea. Do you think it’s marvelous?
1st Guest: Oh yes. I think it’s a marvelous idea.
2nd Guest: Well I think it’s more marvelous than you do.
3rd Guest: Well I thought it was a marvelous idea before you guys ever did.

Host: Well that’s just Marvelous. It must be a really marvelous idea. See everyone thinks it’s marvelous.
