Background
In recent years, the non-attendance cases in primary and secondary schools due to emotional, learning, family relationships and social interaction difficulties have aroused public concern. In view of this, Baptist Oi Kwan Social Service – Mental Wellness Service for Children and Youth, with Education Bureau and The Education University of Hong Kong, conducts the "Hi-Five Student Engagement Award Scheme" which aims at promoting a positive school culture to engage students and enhance their learning motivation and boost the sense of connection between the students and the school.
Objective(s)
1. To encourage schools to cultivate a positive school culture, promote behavioural engagement to establish student-school connections in order to enhance students' self-worth and commitment to school life;
2. To introduce the objectives and content of the “Hi-Five Student Engagement Award Scheme”

Remarks
1. Special Arrangements for Bad Weather
a. Course / Activity for morning session will be cancelled when Typhoon Signal Pre-No. 8 / No.8 or above or Black Rainstorm Warning Signal is issued at or after 5:30 a.m.
b. Course / Activity for afternoon session will be resumed when Typhoon Signal No.8 or above is replaced by Signal No. 3, or Black Rainstorm Warning Signal is cancelled at or before 10:30 am. Otherwise, Course / Activity for afternoon session will continue to be cancelled.
2. Special arrangement for class suspension
a. In the event of class suspension for ALL types of schools in the territory announced by EDB because of special conditions, the Course / Activity will be cancelled. Participants will be notified for further arrangement of the date, venue and time by EDB or the correspondent organization in due course.
b. If the suspension of class is applicable only for some particular types of schools or schools in a particular region, the Course/ Activity targeting for all types of schools territory-wide (including secondary, primary, special schools and kindergartens) will be held as usual.
c. If the Course / Activity targets for a particular type of schools and EDB has announced the suspension of these schools, the Course / Activity will be cancelled. Participants will be notified for further arrangement in due course.
3. Health Measures
In order to minimize the risk of infection of COVID-19, participants are required to ensure the compliance of the latest disease prevention measures before entering the activity venue, including but not limited to the following:
a. wearing surgical masks during the whole period of activity;
b. following the instructions of the venue staff to measure the body temperature(access will not be allowed if fever or respiratory symptoms are found); and
c. using the “LeaveHomeSafe” app and presenting the scan record of the venue
4. Car Park Arrangement
No car parks will be provided at venue.
5. In view of the development of the COVID-19 epidemic, the Course / Activity may be switched to online mode. For the confirmation of the mode of the Course/ Activity, accepted applicants will receive the arrangement and details via the email account provided on the e-Service Portal on or before 10 January 2023 (Tuesday). (For participants who cannot register through the training calendar, the relevant arrangements will also be sent to the email account provided in the registration form.)
