TnG eWallet Now Allows Users To Send Money To 10 Countries

Touch ‘n Go eWallet (TNG Digital) today is announcing GOremit – a new service that allows users to securely send money to 10 countries abroad, including 5 from ASEAN region and the remaining in the South Asia region. These countries include: Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka.

“We are providing an inclusive solution with competitive exchange rates that meet the needs of millions of foreign workers that are here in Malaysia,” said Alan Ni, CEO of TNG Digital. The service is primarily designed for underserved communities, foreign workers, international students, and expats. “Users who have the need to transfer money conveniently to their children studying abroad or transfer on behalf of their domestic helpers can do so via GOremit.”

To use the GOremit service, users are required to complete their verification via eKYC. The process then continues with the option to choose the transfer option: recipient’s bank account, local eWallet or cash pickup points. Three eWallet providers have confirmed to support the TnG GOremit, namely bKash in Bangladesh, GCash and PayMaya in Philippines. “We have plans to introduce more partners and expand this service to more countries in the future,” added Ni.

Additionally, foreign citizens in Malaysia can receive money through TnG eWallet from overseas as well, though it’d require the sender to use Wise or Panda Remit to work. Expect more overseas partners to become available down the line, as noted in the company’s press release.

Pokdepinion: A nice addition on top of the already robust app.
