Labor Attaché Fidel Macauyag of the Philippine Labor Office in Taichung Taiwan said Silicon Precision Industries Co. Ltd. (SPIL) in Taichung City needs 779 additional workers in its factories.

“The vacancies are contained in the Job Orders of SPIL that were submitted to POLO-Taichung this week for verification,” Macauyag said.

According to the department, SPIL is one of the leading providers of comprehensive semiconductor assembly and test services in the world. Their products include advanced leadframe and substrate-based packages, which are widely used in computers, tablets, cellular phones, set-top boxes, and LCD monitors.

SPIL also manufactures wearable devices, smart appliances, IoT, fingerprint sensors, smart cars, VR/AR, artificial intelligence, drones, smart speakers, digital cameras, and video game consoles, among others.

Last October, POLO-Taichung awarded SPIL a plaque of recognition for currently employing more than 3,500 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), with a free placement fee, monthly broker’s service fee, medical and other fees.

Macauyag lauded the company for its continued preference for Filipinos to be part of its workforce.

The labor attache also expressed hope for an early easing of travel protocols and limitation on the number of inbound passengers in Taiwan so that the prospective OFWs awaiting deployment in the Philippines may immediately work in Taiwan.

The POLO-Taichung advised interested applicants to apply at the following Philippine Recruitment Agencies: Grand Placement & General Services Corp., MIP International Manpower Services, Inc., and JS Contractor Incorporated.
