The IB Continuum at MUHS
MUHS' quest to become an International Baccalaureate school is centered on our commitment to increase opportunity, excellence, and equity for all students. MUHS is committed to growing student understanding grounded in the IB Learner Profile and helping them build international-mindedness to enter the global community with the skills they need to be successful as engaged citizens.
ACSD faculty and administrators are building curriculum and designing systems to create what will be the first IB World District in Vermont and the eighth district across the nation. Middlebury Union High School’s IB Diploma Program was authorized in the summer of 2019, making MUHS our first IB World School, with the Middle Years Program expected to be authorized this winter. By the fall of 2020, we expect to be fully authorized across schools and grade levels offering the Primary Years, Middle Years, and Diploma Programs.
Faculty, Staff, and Students
MUHS has a deeply committed and inspired faculty, comprised of 57 full-time professionals of whom 80% hold masters degrees or higher. MUHS is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges.
MUHS students are caring, creative, and engaged. They have a strong commitment to academics and extracurricular interests that make MUHS a vibrant, dynamic school.
