The Cisco case and how Indians took casteism to the US, with Thenmozhi Soundararajan

The case of a Dalit engineer allegedly facing discrimination at the tech firm Cisco, after his caste identity was revealed, has now found its way to the California courts. The case is being closely watched as this is probably the first time that American law will have to really grapple with the idea of caste discrimination. In this episode, Sandip talks to Thenmozhi Soundararajan, the executive director of Equality Labs, which produced a survey of caste in America. They discuss the Cisco case, the history of caste discrimination in the US and what Equality Lab’s survey reveals.
