I have Checked the hospital data of data.gov.in file and observed it needs cleaning before we add this information to the OSM.

I found it has around 30k of hospitals records:

Observation on Position Accuracy:
The position accuracy for the available hospital records is very poor and most of the Hospitals are falling more than 200mts away from the original position but this data has good quality of other information like email, contact information, website, type of services etc… which will be more valuable for OpenStreetMap and disaster rescue team across India.

We can add this information to OSM If we get support from the local Community for the position accuracy of the respected hospital.

Example for the Poor Position Accuracy : (more than 200mts )

Found many of the geo coordinates which are falling outside of india: Examples: negative coordinates

Identified few instances where multiple hospital records are falling on the same coordinates which is obviously not the actual position but we can rectify this issue with local knowledge or by implementing the reverse geocoding.

There are few records which have better position accuracy with respect of Existing OSM data and these can be updated to OSM using the conflation.

Need Clarification:
Few of the values of the health specialties are exceeding the char limit in OSM (225char). In that case can we replace the value with “multi-speciality” or do we need to retain with only the major treatments?

Please share your thoughts and suggestions on OSM tagging (India Specific Tagging) for the health facility so that we can add this information into OSM .
