Parliament Protest Meltdown: On negotiating with lunatics & the Woke Left calling in the military

This is not the time to radicalise or enflame the situation, Trevor has already done that, the martial law revenge fantasies of middle class activists who haven't even been to the protest  aren't helping and are only illuminating their own smug privilege.

Mallard’s actions last week on Thursday Stupid Thursday is finally being challenged by the Stockholm Syndrome Press Gallery.

Last week, this feral lunatic jamboree was dying off on Thursday morning and losing momentum right up until Trev threw a short man tantrum and called in the cops to clear the lawn. The resulting melee and 122 arrests created a common enemy and produced a 10 hour live stream recruitment video.

Mallard’s spraying them with water and loud music have been criticised by the Police and they have come out saying they can’t arrest their way out of this.

Complicating matters for Labour are the woke activist left whose puritanical dogma must see all disagreement as a hate crime. Their need to paint everyone at the Parliament protest as a Nazi is part of their woke faith and you see Labour’s Woke Lords already calling for the military to be brought in…

…these middle class dickheads on Twitter must be ignored.

This is not the time to radicalise or enflame the situation, Trevor has already done that, the martial law revenge fantasies of middle class activists who haven’t even been to the protest  aren’t helping and are only illuminating their own smug privilege.

I never thought I’d ever get to the stage in NZ politics where I was holding back the Left from calling on the the State to smash their fellow citizen – I always thought that was a threat from the Right!

What is needed is more patience and time -why? Because the alternative is the revenge fantasies of the woke where 200 Police with batons, pepper spray and dogs are set on women, children and the poor.

Is that the legacy image Jacinda wants for her time as Prime Minister?

Police bashing supposed ‘Nazis’ on the front lawn of Parliament?

AUT came out with research yesterday showing that Far Right Steve Bannon aligned Propaganda Units like CounterSpin have had unprecedented online hate spread compared to NZ mainstream media – for example 305 videos from these groups over the last week got 4.9 millions views while the total weekly views for mainstream NZ media was 5.5million (although AUT make the ‘Billy TK mistake’ and don’t note that much of that misinformation is a global audience). There might not be Nazi’s at the protest but Far Right propagandists are manipulating these protestors into believing some pretty demented versions of reality which is ultimately a threat to our Democracy, but painting them all as Nazis is stupid and only provides more smug arrogance to use any force necessary.

Jacinda is right not to meet or negotiate with protestors using threats of violence, B-U-T this isn’t about negotiating, this is about de-escalation and shrinking the size of this so that it can just be pushed off Parliament Lawns rather than 200 baton wielding riot police.

Instead of ‘negotiation’, an MP with mana needs to formally meet with protestors and take their list of concerns to the top table, and in doing so, the protestors need to agree to leave.

These protestors want what any aggrieved citizen wants, to be heard. Sure, there are some crypto-fascists amongst this crowd who want to do harm, but listening to the concerns of the least demented so that they go home is a far better proposal than sending in the military as the working from home middle class woke now want.

Why am I so certain that this symbolism of an MP collecting concerns will de-escalate things?

Because Omicron is coming.

Once it hits this makeshift shit village it will cause enormous sickness and the place will fold in upon itself due to illness.

Rather than using extreme Police force or military actions which will radicalise even more dispossessed and economically hurt people, allow the virus to do it all for you!

We can get through this!

Democracy is a messy, frustrating and infuriating process, but that’s what makes it so glorious!

The pain of the working classes and the way the mandates impact them harshest vs the woke middle class work from home revenge fantasies is a political issue that must be examined because the injustice of all that Government money propping up and enriching those very same middle class work from home woke wankers SHOULD be examined and the economic pain bourn by the poorest ‘essential workers’ does need a political solution.

Labour have ruled for the rich and have over seen the largest wealth transfer in modern history and with rents soaring, food prices soaring, the cost of living exploding, people are going to take that economic insecurity and vomit it up on politicians.

If we don’t find a solution, get ready for those protestors to stay or force an action by the Police so extreme we birth a whole new domestic terrorism.

Again, great work Trev! No one else could have made this so toxic.

  1. Yup. The apprentice leftie woke trolls of the millennial culture war need to shut the fuck up!

Go to the protest and front up with a decent debate, and probably a change of undies just to be safe.

Go put your bs into action!

I’ve done it heaps of times and guess what? It’s not that hard to do.

Hiding behind a keyboard getting your jollies because you said something clever on twatter, and then thinking you’ve ‘owned’ someone is fuck’n pathetic.

Take a possee along and don’t be a buncha of middle-class pussies.

The latte hardcore left need to front instead of kiss’n each others arses.

    • Scant danger of this poster choking on “ze big sausage”–aka Natzo Bratwurst–because the natural venom glands should dissolve it promptly.

As per many posters on TDB Mr Tane can detect a problem or deviation or ride a trend, but is piss weak at coming up with even one positive idea.

      • Daryl No, denny should go to Wellington and engage with the protestors, and see how he enjoys that.

denny should speak with some of the locals who have been intimidated by them, and who are living frightened that somebody dear to them is going to be hurt, like badly hurt.

Take Jeremy baby with him, the pair of them sound as deranged as the demonstrators; they may even pick up a few tips about how to be even bigger dimwits than they already are. And if they think anyone will appreciate their dubious contribution to their causes, there’s only way to find out.

  2. To be honest, it’s now as boring and as repetitive as the media’s daily covid porn.

It is tying up a lot of police resources I can only imagine they couldn’t afford to lose which will mean victims of crime can get stuffed. It will be awful living near it, it will be ruinous trying to run a business near it. But aside from those poor innocent bystanders, the world will carry on turning.

But I think anyone who thinks talking to this lot is going to solve anything is delusional!

    • Well you are right there, talking will do nothing, action is needed. Remove all vaccine mandates and they leave. They put up with this the past two years and Wellingtonians are complaining after a week. If you live near a speedway there’s track noise, if you live near a slaughterhouse there’s smell, and if you live near parliament you’re just going to have accept protests when the government sufficiently pisses off enough people.

I feel some sympathy for those living in Wellington, but it’s tempered by the people complaining, most of whom seem to feel no sympathy for me.

    • Sorry, but half these idiots have nooses and want to hang the PM and a range of other people. We should be taking these death threats seriously and not trivialising them how you are Martyn.

      • Yes agree should not be trivialising like many did when the effigies of John Key,Bill English and Judith Collins were guillotined by a protest group.

  3. It is unfortunate that under the weak Minister Poto Williams the thin blue line has become very weak . Yesterday it showed they have not do their job on making the roads safer all markers were way short of their goal . Crime gun control murders gangs are all out of control . Where is the strength shown in 1981 .

    • Trevor, Poto is beyond useless, make no mistake, but that commissioner was appointed under Nash’s reign and the do nothing, cardigan wearing, social working began there. Those high up running this farce are frozen in indecision and self serving risk adversity.

If nothing else this protest has demonstrated no matter how many laws are written, they’re not worth the paper they were written on if no one wants to enforce them.

  4. I am pretty disgusted by the govt response to this. They are trying to smear these protesters.

I don’t agree with the protesters over the vaccine. But even without I put from the right, some Kiwis have had some pretty weird ideas about Western medicine and go down the alternative route, which is untested and unproven.

I do think the govt has made a massive mistake with the mandates for nurses and teachers. These people should have been redeployed. We know there will be a hell of a lot of sick people isolating at home. The untaxed nurses should have been re deployed to offer Telehealth services to them, to monitor should they need to be in hospital

    • The protestors are doing a good job of smearing themselves and turning people who may have agreed with 1 of the many causes them promote.
It’s shows he power there is behind this crowd as towing companies have been warned off by threats hence the army is needed to move this vehicles on

          • Not at all merely pointing out this group not much different to protest groups that have gone before them but some seem to be conveniently forgetting that.

            • This group has set up a school, food hall, medical mess, security, in amongst themselves. I think your drawing a long bow this group is no different from any other protest, Name just one other protest group that have done this, just one?

  5. Scroll through The Standard here to find the photo post by the highly respected Swordfish showing lefty TPPA protesters guillotining pictures of Bill English.
Are dumb violent statements only OK when the left do it?
Where was the media wailing and Twitter hand wringing then?
What did Hipkins Ardern and Mallard say about acceptable behavior in a protest then?

    • butttttt sir sir sir he did it first, honest he did sir….sir sir sir

…did that work for you in primary school kc?…I thought not.

      • I think you misunderstand the argument gagarin.
        All violent words/acts are wrong.
Choosing to write the other team off for the same bad behavior as your own team is a feature of hypocritical woke cancel culture.

      • Agree Kcc.
The reply by garagin is weak and shows an inability to mount a credible argument.
“All violent words/ acts are wrong.”
Definitely and applies to everyone not just one group.
Shows blatant bias by garagin and others on this site.
        Disappointing.

  6. It’s been a little over a week a few streets are blocked ffs. Bring in the army ffs talk about using a really massive sledge hammer to squash an ant.
The Army? Really? Imagine pictures of soldiers dealing to protesters beamed around the world… wtf are they thinking.

      • Me? Nah… maybe you misread I’m against bring the army etc in…
I stayed out of Ihumatao didnt have the knowledge or right to comment.
I will say heavy handedness isnt a good answer to protest.

  7. I’d have liked to have seen a novel, less ignorant and abusive and more creative approach to people freaking out on a wet lawn being forced to listen to Barry Manilow by a stumpy, duck lipped bully paid six figures plus entitlements( Imagine the new wave of weird fetishes he’s just launched? ” I can only cum while being hosed down on a golf course by a narcissistic sociopathic politician as a squawking, snout nosed minstrel belts out elevator muzak over a loud speaker.”
I would have liked to have witnessed a creative bout of kindness from our government instead of abuse and belittling. The gubbimint, which is ours we should remember, could have called in proper catering and fed everyone, then they could have pitched a circus sized tent for those who got cold and wet. Imagine turning up at a protest rally where people were welcomed then treated well by those whom they were protesting against. Then when you left you get free tickets to film and live performances and a picnic set for next time.
It really does prove that mallard is a cruel, disrespectful old fool who hasn’t washed his undies since 1984 and virtually everyone else of our army of over priced politicians are cowardly and unimaginative.

    • +1
Countryboy, I like the cut of your jib old bean.
Actual kindness – what a weapon! “They don’t like it up ’em Captain Mainwaring” (for those old enough to remember…)

  8. You know the funniest thing of all Bomber. Wokeington has 1 week where their lives are interrupted and all hell brakes loose. Auckland shitkicked since August – smug silence

Fuck them and their high horse.

    • Frank – you condone the violent threats, graffiti, white supremacists, the covert funding from far right elements and outright death threats then?

      • yes he does daryl of course he does, they make him all tingly in the naughty parts as he thinks rightard thoughts of rightard fantasies.

      • No Darryl. I don’t condone the 5% of loons that are attached to the rally similar to the loons attached to BLM protests that topple statues etc.

The vast majority are protesting peacefully and I find it delightful that the same middle management morons and parliamentarians that consigned Auckland to a Sobibor with picnics are having some inconvenience because they don’t want to remove ridiculous mandates that mean jack shit with the latest variant.

  9. If not handled in a calm but assertive manner with dialogue at a reasonable level, we could end up with a Tianneman Square scenario. That memory then would be worse than long Covid.

I suggested music. That could have been making a ‘fun’ point along with an invitation to present a wish list and then go home. No sprinklers etc just firm and fair. Saying that the protesters don’t realise that their moment of truth is passing and now they are merely annoying. So we can get a bit annoying too. If they played God Defend NZ it would have been effective. But with each worthwhile idea that the protesters put forward neatly and clearly with an idea of the cost envisaged, they could make a request for a NZ song or music – interesting to see how many actually listen to our music. Then we could make a compilation and sell it at a low price to cover costs as a memory of a good outcome. Instead of going spiteful, the effort would be to get them aiming to think about practical outcomes and be good-humoured and firm. The police have been restrained don’t let dumb-arse politicians get out of step. I don’t think the music idea was silly. What is silly is to threaten state violence and have it go down in history as another Labour failure like refusing cannabis laws being overturned .

  10. Hahahaha here’s some comedy folks: Commissioner Coster can’t find a tow truck to carry out his big threat of towing their vehicles. Remember when “I’ll call the cops” was a threat?

  11. If this government hadn’t started its tenure virtuously embracing a Haight -Ashbury philosophy of “ All You Need is Love”, and emotionally manipulated decent people with it’s pledge to end child poverdy, and shown that it understood big words like ‘transparency’, and acknowledged when it stuffed up in its desired outcomes, it would have shown itself to be different from it’s self-serving predecessors, and to be trustworthy. It didn’t.

Having said that, the protestors appear the epitome of selfishness, and we all know what they want, so they may as well go home, message received.

Folk forget that Wellington is a small town, and the occupation is more than just choked streets, but has had a fairly wide local impact, and heightened existing Covid anxieties, and possibly noticeably so among the children. Yesterday I walked the length of a school playground fence on a main road, and a number of children of children greeted me, and called out, including three or four up a tree. This has never happened before – the kids are usually oblivious to what’s happening beyond their fences.

The ill-paid Wellington bus drivers already carry a history of stress from being bullied by their employers. Downtown workers have had their work scene gutted with Covid coming on top of post-earthquake physical restrictions and the Lambton Quay workscape majorly changed. Many of these persons are parents too, as are the young cops threatened with execution and being abused in the front line for the actions of the government – and hated by large chunks of the community anyway. They’re the people who tried to stop Trevor wetting the children throughout the already cold wet night, and thinking it funny. The Commissioner for Children seems to have been silent on this issue, but I guess it’s a bit political.

The music thing was confrontational and meant to be : not a good way to solve any dispute. I rather like, “ I Write the Songs,” and when searching to see what else Manilow sang,I saw that this song apparently has religious derivations, another interesting symbol.

The tow truck drivers aren’t the most edifying bunch themselves, sometimes operating on the outskirts of the law, so they can bugger off too.

  12. The average person is not on twitter and avoids twitter. Like the protestors they seem to be a group that pretends to speak for a larger demographic, that they don’t speak for and are often politically fed, paid for and motivated.

  13. How big a group is the anti vaxxers?

    Not very big.

“Overall, 96 per cent of eligible people (aged 12 and older) have had one dose of vaccine and 95 per cent have received two.”

Another reason to make rail more dominant in NZ as truck drivers seem to be able to hold cities to random. Has happened in the UK https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fuel_protests_in_the_United_Kingdom, and now in Canada. https://www.greenwichtime.com/business/article/Canadian-trucker-protest-not-yet-affecting-16911702.php?src=gthpbusiness

In NZ we have trucking bosses celebrating coming in without MIQ, you can just buy a truck license in NZ for a bribe, “By way of a bribe payment, a price was agreed upon which was typically $400 if the applicant attended and sat their IR or IF driving test, and up to $550 if the applicant did not attend and between $1500 and $2500 for a class two to five truck licence.” https://www.rnz.co.nz/news/national/365583/punjabi-singer-gets-home-detention-for-drivers-licences-bribes and many NZ fatalities and accidents increasingly involve trucks.

NZ seems to be increasing it’s monopolies and duopolies. Might help to get some managers into Kiwirail who can run a rail company properly not Rogernom refugees.
