Latest internal UMR Poll – Left plummet while Right rise

As TDB has been pointing out for sometime, the woke identity politics crap is devastating the left – you can’t eat hate speech laws or pay the rent with gay conversion laws – it’s woke activists & Labour’s inability to force the public service to be transformative that is seeing the Left plummet!

Comrades.

Th Identity Politics Left has lurched into ‘Social Justice’ territory which alienates more than it attracts. As a class left supporter, I believe the demarkation of power in society is between the 1% and their 9% enablers vs the 90% rest of us.

Economic Justice does more than banning Gay Conversion, criminalising speech or gerrymandering the legal system to ensure anyone accused is found guilty, it redistributes wealth and makes direct provision to the cost of every day living. Beneficiaries and working class people care less about pronouns and the correct pronunciation of te Reo than they do about how to pay next weeks rent and power bill!

Pure temple doctrine divides & alienates. Broadchurch universals build solidarity.

I’m not interested in social justice wokedom any more, it is a minefield of competing schisms throwing vitriol at one another.

Twitter outrage is woke righteousness porn for the middle classes. A puritanical razoring where the self elected morality police publicly shame and cancel anyone for not using the language protocols of the conclave.

Kiwis don’t respond well to social engineering and the way the woke activist base are licking their chops in anticipation on social media over who they will purge the moment they get Hate Speech laws isn’t helping!

TDB Recommends NewzEngine.com

Because the public service is not frightened of Labour, they take the money and laugh.

Labour spent $1.9b on mental health and got 5 acute beds.

Because Labour are so weak with the neoliberal public service, it can’t get anything meaningful on housing, poverty or mental health leaving it with woke virtue signals like hate speech laws and gay conversion laws to pass in the hope that pacifies their woke activist base, which is fine except that it’s deadly alienating to the rest of the electorate.

These internal polls are showing an enormous erosion of support and if NZF is polling just under 5% then Winston is back in 2023 and he would demand the Greens are out of any Government.

The woke will refuse to believe their slavish promotion of middle class identity politics cancel culture has anything to do with this dip in support which only highlights their delusion.

The adults on the Left need to force focus back on economic justice and not woke social justice or we will lose the 2023 election.

TDB has been pointing this out for sometime.

  1. Those numbers appear to have been doctored. Multiple sources I have heard have National at 31%; Labour at 38% in this poll. This is a poll that is slanted towards Labour. It would be very interesting what the next Curia poll (slanted the other way) will show. Will it show the left and right neck-and-neck?

Regardless the slide is on. Go woke(borg) go broke.

    I

  2. Winston is back simply because voting Labour is a waste of time.

Stating the bleeding obvious, housing is a catastrophe now, timber now in short supply and going up in cost. Materials shortages in a country that produces so much timber makes us more a late Soviet Union than a Western democracy. Skill shortages suggest attracting such skills to NZ in the current pandemic should be easy. If Labours migration policy and minister were not so inept.

Labour know all this but are frozen, unsure what to do or how to do it, wedded to market solution dogma and PR distactions.

Labour don’t care about the disaster that is housing because their inaction says so. Jacinda staying silent screams out loud she couldn’t give a shit. They are USELESS!

As each week passes and Labour fail to deliver, and they will, expect them to bleed votes to those parties people think will do something meaningful.

I am not so convinced Labour stand a chance in 2023. But Winston, he’s in pole position.

  3. “Housing! Health! Homelessness! and Education!” -2017

This will be inscribed on Jacindas Headstone after she dies from a long period of depression, alcoholism and homelessness.

  4. Give us a break XRay Winstone needs to retire and have a well earned rest. In the meantime, yes the right wing lots polling will go up but they won’t go up enough to win the next election when they don’t have a creditable leader, unless they can pluck someone out of thin air.

    • Forget National, a major reason why housing turned into a crisis but not the only reason.

Labour are the government and have been for about 3.5 years to be conservative. One of the pillars of their time in opposition was the brewing housing crisis. They got into government only for their ill conceived Kiwibuild to fail. There was no Plan B except to carry on where National left off. The settings remained the same. Jacinda was so spooked by that failure she barely mentions housing any more. I think she is convinced that if she pretends the problem doesn’t exist, it will just magic itself away.

Instead she crusades some epically uneeded unasked for badly written social engineering laws that will curtail free speech and something to do with gay conversion therapy, the vast majority of us had never heard of, whilst Rome burns and people go homeless or broke or both.

So why would anyone bother voting for a government, a majority government no less, that defaults to doing nothing or next to nothing as a standard for the biggest issue facing this society?

Hence Winston is back and all is forgiven!

      • There are a lot of people who haven’t forgiven Winston, and a lot who won’t forget his betrayal, so I’d be surprised if NZ First broke the 5% barrier to get into parliament & if he did, who would sell their soul to go into coalition with him? (Stupid question really, which politician wouldn’t sell their soul in a heartbeat if it meant gaining power).

      • I agree with a lot of your points and JacindaBlair is a MAJOR disappointment (bar getting the border closure issue spot on, against all opposition, that have been CONVENIENTLY let of the hook for their bad suggestions by our propaganda media).
But WHO ELSE can we vote for? We presently have the choice of dumb and dumber. Or more accurately crook/Liar or bigger crook/Liar.
Their is little to NO real democracy or democratic choice in NZ politics. I genuinely worry/fear that this WILL end badly for the 90% of us who are not the 1% uber wealthy or their 9% enablers.

    • I keep asking myself that. The old better to be inside the tent pissing out than outside the tent pissing in argument.
I decided that when those inside the tent are quite comfy and not listening, not motivated to actually do anything because they’ve got a few worshippers expert at justifying it all, spinning and bullshitting (at the very least being frugal with the truth), I’m fucked if I’m going to help enable them in any way it’s gone on way way too long.

      • I’m going to make another prediction. Labour win another majority government. Y’all image nation is just broke and cheap.

          • Labour doesn’t get to choose coalition partners. If we want the big changes, Labour is going to have to make what ever coalition arrangements, ranging from confidence and supply to cabinet positions with anyone who makes it into parliament that are not called ACT or National.

    • CIP
Yeah exactly, too right, fuck National, fuck ACT, fuck NZ1!!!! Vote for Labour/Green if you care about child poverty. Or care about affordable housing. Or care about free speech. Or crime. Or finishing infrastructure projects. Or parents rights. Or top quality education. Or planting a billion trees. Or cycle bridges. Or going in to Pike River. Or water management. Or cost-effective government. Or Green investment funds. Or shovel ready projects. Or 500K playgrounds. Or captital gains tax. Or keeping house prices in check. Or speedy vaccine rollouts. Or MIQ unpaid fees. Or getting kiwis home. Or or or or or…makes good reading eh?…just vote Labour. Can’t go wrong!

  5. Woke identity politics is mostly against the middle class, hence why Labeen are declining in the polls.

Labour have always created a disaster when they force through their latest epiphany of social policy.

From Tomorrow’s schools (pretending it was for the parents), to the ‘one’ maternity provider (pretending it was to provide less intrusive care to mothers), to Rogernomics (pretending to trickle down), to student tertiary fees (pretending to help tertiary education in NZ for the poor) to Kiwibuild privatising state house land (to help warm, dry houses), Labour has been at fault for many appalling decisions that they forced through.

    Just stop!

Greens are supposed to be environmental and have been anything but. They were supposed to help renters and then encouraged a lack of rental supply by telling landlords to sell their rentals off to first home buyers who have been coming in the hundreds of thousands from overseas and welcomed with open arms as being a cheap source of labour and consumption for NZ’s Dinosaur businesses!

Nobody wants the Natz/ACT back, but if that is what it takes to get Labeen to avoid another disastrous lurch into another social disaster, it might be what it comes down to.

Afganistan has fallen, and decades ago, many middle class people protested against the US and Allies invading the Middle East.

The middle class don’t like the fake hate speech laws and they don’t like identity politics being at the centre of disastrous policy and committee failures in NZ.

    • The so-called middle classes often miss out, regardless of who’s calling the tune anyway, but the woke identity politicians of the Greens, are too busy admiring themselves in the carp pond to care about anybody who reflects differently from their narcissistic selves – hence Winston is suddenly looking very grown-up and normal.

    • The housing supply is not effected one iota by the sale of a rental property. UNLESS the speculators (they are NOT investors. If they were they’d be building NEW houses) blow-up the ex-rental.

If they do as 99.999999999% of speculators, and sell it on, it’ll be so to another speculator (the next greater fool) or a renter who can (somehow) buy their own place.

Net effect, one less rental property and one less renter looking for a rental property.

I agree with a LOT of you other points, but perpetuating the LIE of less rentals for renters destroys the credibility of your post, IMHO (non hate speech.

      • The inability to understand maths and who is coming in and out of NZ and what they are buying, is why in the past decade the housing crisis has got worse. Apparently we can have our best and brightest leaving NZ and don’t care if we replace them with criminals, terrorists and student families from overseas. It’s all great!

Not sure how this guy got into NZ, but sounds like he doesn’t want to be here! These people are all high needs people who will go on to harm others.

“S was given a formal warning by police but continued posting violent material, including a comment saying: “One day I will go back to my country and I will find kiwi scums in my country … and I will show them … what will happen when you mess with S while I’m in their country. If you’re tough in your country … we are tougher in our country scums #payback”.”

There are so many scams and high needs people that NZ is currently supporting from overseas people who are easily able to become NZ citizens within a couple of years, then leave NZ (while leaving satellite familiy members here on our health and schooling system) and to make matters worse are able to do this by getting a visa by buying NZ businesses like vineyards and hotels and running them into the ground. The windfall is that even if the OIO make them sell, they make an enormous profit because it’s just another type of landbanking but all the jobs the business used to have are gone.

        Rinse and repeat.

        • I agree our immigration policy is ‘too stupid to be stupid’ (i.e. it’s most probably planned to be so crooked for some reason we are not privy to; probably the slave plantation needs to put us ‘Chicken Georges’ in fear of being sent back to the plantation’?
          Stop immigration unless:
          1) We can house (basically) all our people
          2) There is a GENUINE need for someone’s skills and make their residence predicated on them staying in the job for (say) 10 years
          3) No dependents allowed in UNLESS the main-immigrant is financially on the hook for ALL costs and they can NOT leave behind the ‘hangers on’.
          4) NO and I repeat absolutely NO financial workarounds. And yes I’m talking about the likes of you MrThiel etc etc. The TraitorKey citizens, who deserve and NEED to have their PHONY citizenship revoked.

NON of this is NOT rocket science.

Follow the money to know who’s making out like a bandit whilst the 90% of us suffer the externalities.

I feel sorry for the Kiwis aged 10-25, who have to buy a place to live in soon amid ‘climate change’, massive Govt debt and NZ’s collapsing infrastructure.

          • I agree with your sentiments Kevin. We should be more careful who gets to come to NZ, it should take 10 years to get PR or citizenship and a full audit of their time in NZ is needed based on how they have behaved and what they contributed (aka only impeccable behaviour means they are allowed to become a Kiwi).

Meanwhile those coming to NZ in any capacity visitor or temporary visa should not be able to bring along dependants at all, or if they do, they should be fully responsible for their dependants health care and schooling and ensure before the visa is granted they have financial means to fully support them including new partners and children.

You should also not be able to buy a house and start having kids/relationships here on temporary permits… this has allowed people got get a quickly student/temp visa, buy a house, bring the entire family and add to their family putting more stress on NZ maternity systems, then refuse to leave! Often they say they won’t leave because their children are settled in NZ and have bought a house! That is another house gone for Kiwis and another maternity place given away to someone who can buy a student/temp visa! That is more paperwork and court cases when the quick divorce ends in tears and we have more people living in NZ taking up housing with few prospects. https://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/high-court-rules-nz-man-doesnt-have-to-pay-212000-dowry-to-ex-wife/LAYMR4OGA66NW2K7KWYA64WO5Q/?&ref=recommended

In addition we are finding growing frauds and issues with these ‘babies’ and children born in NZ, when the parents leave somehow NZ remains open to the kids who only spent a few years here become a criminals in later life and are deported or willing come back here to defraud people or just to take benefits like retirement. Aka terror mom and kids, 501’s, and case like https://www.stuff.co.nz/national/121302846/colour-drained-from-real-estate-agents-face-as-he-realised-hed-been-defrauded-of-120k-in-sim-hijacking-scam

Charity does NOT begin at home in NZ.

    • I want Nats/Act. They are on the right side of the hate speech laws, gay conversion therapy ban and will actually deliver something of value to NZ in contrast to vast money squandering exercise Labour has initiated for absolutely no value to anyone except bureaucrats. I think we also forget they were calling for the border to be closed long before Labour finally did it, so would also have delivered as good a result on the covid front as Labour and perhaps not even needed the initial lockdowns.

      • You may need to prove your ‘rewrite of history’, that Natz/ACT were asking for closure of the borders before JancindaBlair.
They were doing the EXACT opposite from my memory.

  6. “A record 11,000-plus new Auckland apartments are rising and planned in the next three years, bringing enough new residences to house the entire Queenstown population in our biggest city if all projects go ahead.”

Firstly still only consents are listed not built houses COC. You can’t live in a consent. Three more years of living in an emergency motel to add to the 5 years many have already been living like that. And no guarantees that they will ever be built.

Even when houses are built, what we are seeing so far in Auckland, is that the majority of people on NZ wages can’t afford them. All the news stories are about new migrants buying their first house in NZ, not people born in NZ and working in NZ being able to afford any of the ‘new builds or apartments’. That is because in general you can’t.

How do you afford 500,000 – 800,000 for the cheapest houses, when 40% of people are on minimum wages of $800 p/w and how do you run the country when increasingly workers are not paying taxes, they need tax top ups just to survive on NZ’s diabolical wages. https://www.stuff.co.nz/business/81429047/small-number-of-taxpayers-bear-the-brunt-of-new-zealand-tax-bill

Nothing from government about how to catch up with Australian wages and conditions, because our government still believes in trickle down economics and not keen to stop the Ponzi, even though the health and housing waiting lists are exponentially growing.

  7. Social justice, virtue signalling and identity politics has reached a terminal point among regular people working at The Warehouse. No one cares about this stuff except that 1% of people it affects. These are at best “First World issues”, at worst it’s pandering to people that hate you regardless how much you capitulate to their woke demands. During a zombie apocalypse, no one is thinking about whether accepting a TERF into a survival group is the right thing to do.

  8. Where’s Bert?….im sure he will inform us how this is specifically Keys fault and National in general.
C’mon Bert we need your ‘squirrel’ deflections here now!

  9. For the first time since i started voting in 1987 i will not support any of the current parties in parliament and that includes Winston first in 2023.

Its no longer about choosing a party with policy positions to attack the causes of poverty because they never carry them out. Its just a vote for the neoliberal entrenchment and expecting the many crises affecting our communities in New Zealand to be rectified by the same policies that have bought us to where we are now.

I hope Social Credit or a realignment on the left can make some progress but its unlikely. There is still only one option left and that’s MMP should a new group determined to force real change and will be needed at some point by the wealthy represented market parties who need their support to form a governing arrangement.

Robert Reid is correct the enablers are never voted for on the ballot paper but are the group that really governs the country.

In the meantime the status quo since 1984 will continue and the destruction of many New Zealand communities to austerity and misery.

    • You and I are on the same page mosa.
I too have given up on the current ‘offerings’ for the same reasons, and will be voting Social Credit next Election.
      +100

      • Hear hear, hence my continual encouragement of Martyn to start his Pa Aotearoa party so we can vote for a (possibly genuine) political party, that cares for Kiwis and not some vested interested we are not privy to.
Otherwise JacindaBlair has the supposed ‘moral’ right to claim the people want more of her uselessness and neoKindness Bull sh1t.

  10. Look what happened with the Natz/Act coalition pre-2017. The speculators were the basis for the rock star economy. Where I live in Ponsonby houses were being purchased, a quick do-up and on the market within 3 months making a killing. None of that now. At the same time Key was filling Queen St with the homeless reaching a peak in 2016. Labour and Greens are safe with help of Maori party. Winstone will share Natz and Act 30% ers. We dont want the Natz/Act to be managing our Covid response. The borders will be opened and the delta variant will be in with the grim reaper. Thank you Jacinder, Ashley and the labour party for making Aotearoa the safest and free-est country in the world.

    • Delta is a virtual certainty to get here before the election.
If Labour had any brains – and they absolutely do not, they would be going hammer and tongs getting our vaccination up from worst in the OECD and improving border security, contact tracing and hospital readiness – you know, all those things they haven’t been doing for more than a year, while preaching from the pulpit.

One dangerous side effect of people losing trust in government is more people questioning the vaccination – I’ve gladly had my first shot and will get a second, but I know a lot of people who are not mad anti vaxers who are hesitant and increasingly so with lies from government (think the widely panned vax graph, airbrushing of AstraZeneca side effects, paid propaganda from the pink haired microbiologist).
Bad government is very likely to bite us on the arse very soon if/when Delta arrives.

    • True, but that is absent any real alternative.
Imagine an election between Stalin, Hitler and Pol Pot and then claiming the winner is still pretty popular coming into the next election.
No hate speech meant about any inferred link between NZ politicians & some of histories appalling manics.

  11. BREAKING NEWS!
Labour getting hammered in the polls so they let Delta out of the cage to help them get a boost in the next poll

    • What Denny Paoa you reckon Jacinda deliberately leaked the Delta Variant into the Community ?

I think you are really pushing the boundaries of truth there bro. Time to have another Kool Aid me thinks ?
