Meta, the social media giant behind Facebook, will invest in The Spinoff as part of its initiative to support New Zealand news outlets.Meta will provide funds to the current affairs and culture website to help it build its data journalism capabilities and increase “reader participation in the development of news stories”, the US social media platform said.The investment follows Meta’s “four-part commitment” to the NZ news industry, announced last month.
