Singtel embarks on data center push in Indonesia, Thailand and beyond

Singapore telecom leader also eyes sites in Malaysia and Vietnam with local partners

SINGAPORE -- Singapore Telecommunications is building data centers beyond its borders as demand for digital infrastructure grows in Southeast Asia, with the company already beginning construction on projects in Indonesia and Thailand.

Singapore's top telecom company, also known as Singtel, currently operates data centers with a total capacity of 60 megawatts and projects under development will more than double this number to 155 MW. Plans for further expansion are expected to lift it to 209 MW.
