Magic Bus works with children and young people in India taking them on a journey from Childhood to Livelihood and out of poverty.

By enabling children and young people to complete secondary education, delay their age at marriage, and attain the skills needed for a stable job, Magic Bus helps to break the cycle of poverty for them and their future generations.

In the current year, 400,000 children are on this journey of moving out of poverty in 22 states and 80 districts of India.

Magic Bus has trained 8,000 young leaders from the community to mentor and deliver the activity-based sessions to children across 930 schools. Over 30,000 young people have been trained and placed in jobs at our 42 Livelihood centers across India. Magic Bus also works in Nepal, Bangladesh and Myanmar.

"Matthew Spacie’s vision to see the lives of at-risk young people changed for the better through sports, mentoring, and life skills training is at the very core of what community transformation is all about. Their work is generational: Not only has Magic Bus been changing lives for over two decades, every life that’s been changed has very likely impacted generations to follow. Cycles of dysfunction broken. Patterns of instability and poverty upended. Not just kids who are being equipped and empowered to live better lives but future fathers and mothers and leaders and citizens and agents of change. One of the most impressive aspects of Magic Bus is the collaborative nature of the work: bringing together parents, community leaders, and willing mentors to rally behind these young people and support them in any way possible."
