It was a pleasure to host our strategic partners from Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ) at the ACCA Hong Kong office last week. CA ANZ CEO Ainslie van Onselen and Group Executive Advocacy and International Development Simon G. visited to further strengthen the cooperation between our two professional accountancy bodies.   Ainslie and Christina So, Head of ACCA Hong Kong and GBA lead, were engaged in productive discussions around key priorities such as increasing the attractiveness and recognition of the profession. This was followed by an insightful fireside chat on this topic. Ainslie was joined by thought leaders from ACCA and CA ANZ including CA ANZ HK Chair Matt Moriarty, ACCA Hong Kong Chairman Danny Po, EY Greater China Chairman's Office Senior Advisor Agnes Chan, BBS, and Stratford Finance CEO Angelina A. Kwan CPA CA (Aus/NZ)   Valuable perspectives were shared with reference to our joint report "Attract, engage, retain: Insights and recommendations for audit talent success." Meeting attendees gained useful insights. The event concluded with a networking reception, allowing conversations to continue in a casual setting.   Strengthening partnerships through engagement like this is important for creating value for our memberships. ACCA and IMA’s Global Economic Conditions Survey Q1 2024 shows economic confidence among finance professionals hits highest level since first half of 2023 although concerns about costs persist.
