Last Tuesday and Wednesday, a portion of Collision’s staff sat down for an intensive meeting to assess where the ministry is and to strategize where it’s headed. Jim Capaldo, District Executive Minister at Converge Heartland, facilitated the team-discovery process—”a process that helps you know where you stand; clarifies where you should go; and gives you a customized plan on how to get there.”

After discussing Collision’s “hinge moments,” the defining moments that brought Collision to where it is today, the team worked through a 4-question list evaluation that illuminated core issues needing to be addressed.

This led to numerous other clarifying processes, hours of focused discussion, and creative discovery, which eventually engendered high-priority initiatives that Collision will implement in the new year.

We also plan to implement an abbreviated version of this process within student leadership teams at various schools using the 4-question list evaluation. This should help students evaluate the effectiveness of their current outreach strategies and offer pathways to improvement.

Praise God for direction (and Jim Capaldo)!

PRAISE:
  • Praise God for the work He did at our strategic planning meeting. We were able to come away with everything from vision to specific strategy and next steps.

  • We continue to praise God for the people He is bringing to Collision. Terence Williams is joining us full-time soon and Bailey Attema will be part-time. They will be great additions to the team!

  • We thank God for this special time to reflect on the true meaning of this beautiful season.

In Christ,
Katarina Jelen and the Collision Team

Prayer Requests:

Please pray that God continues to guide this strategic planning process to help support the growth that He is leading Collision toward - for a strong transition as we come back from the new year.

Our staff will have a longer break over the holidays. Please pray for rest, relaxation, and a nice "reset" before heading back into the rest of the school year.

Please pray for pathways to gospel conversations during time spent with loved ones over the break.

Blessings to you and your family as we head into 2020!
